Some people are allergic to bee stings, and may require immediate medical attention.

  • Get away from the bee, it may attract other bees

  • Remove any stingers immediately by using a credit card or drivers license.

  • If the client is supposed to carry an EpiPen® and doesn’t have it, call 911 immediately!

  • If client gets stung by a bee and you administer an Epi-pen, you must immediately call 911

  • Watch for signs of anaphylaxis

  • Use an ice pack for no longer than 20 minutes

Removing a bee's stinger with your fingers can cause all the venom in the stinger sac to be pushed into the skin.
